Ahead of the full announcement by the Premier League, Manchester United have published their retained and release list, with four Nigeria-eligible players set to remain at Old Trafford for the 2026-2027 season.

Strikers Victor Musa and Chido Obi, along with defender Habeeb Ogunneye, are among the players under the age of 24 who have been retained by the Red Devils.

Musa played an important role for Manchester United's U21 side last season, registering four goals and four assists in 18 appearances across the Premier League 2, National League Cup, Premier League International Cup and EFL Trophy.

Fellow forward Obi continues to catch the eye, scoring nine goals in 18 Premier League 2 appearances.

His standout performance came on February 23, 2026, when he netted all four of Manchester United's goals in a 4-1 victory over Leicester City.

However, the former Arsenal academy player was unable to add to his eight appearances for United's first team.

Elsewhere, right-back Ogunneye has returned to Old Trafford after spending the entire 2025–26 season on loan at League Two side Newport County, where he scored his first senior goal in August 2025.

Finally, highly rated Germany youth international Noah Ajayi has also been retained by Manchester United and will enter the second year of his scholarship with the club in July.

The Hamburg native scored 9 goals in 25 matches across the U18 Premier League, FA Youth Cup, Premier League 2 and Premier League International Cup during the 2025-26 season.
