Paco Jemez aware of Crysencio Summerville's West Ham fate after being left 'amazed' - verdict

Paco Jemez believes West Ham United have a unique player in Crysencio Summerville.

The 24-year-old scored his first goal for the Netherlands in the 2-2 draw against Japan in the 2026 World Cup.

Nuno Espirito Santo's right-hand man believes the Dutch attacker is one of the best wingers in England, scoring five goals and providing four assists this season in the Premier League.

Jemez has no doubt Summerville could be playing for any top team in Europe, and as such, may be aware that the forward's exit from London Stadium is inevitable.

With the Hammers' relegation to the Championship, there's an anticipation among fans in E20 that key players like the Netherlands international and Jarrod Bowen could be looking for a way out soon.

Summerville left Leeds United while they were in the Championship and he would certainly want to return to a top-flight club in the summer.

Nuno appointed Jemez as the men's first-team coach in January to help him navigate the relegation battle.

Fans have embraced the assistant coach's attacking philosophy and fiery demeanour on the touchline, but there has been speculation around his future at London Stadium.

The Spaniard has vast managerial experience at clubs like Las Palmas and Rayo Vallecano, but was surprisingly pleased by Summerville, who amazed him when he arrived at the Hammers.

It was after Jemez's arrival that the Dutch winger consistently showed his true potential for the Irons and it remains to be seen whether they will be able to hold on to him this summer.

Speaking to MARCA on 15 June, the Spanish coach said, "He's the player who surprised me the most when I arrived at West Ham. I was amazed. He's very complete, a footballer you just don't see anymore.

"He's one of the best wingers in the Premier League. He's a big-team player. He could play for any top team in Europe, without a doubt."

The Hammers arguably have a tough fight on their hands to convince Bowen and Summerville to stay at London Stadium and help Nuno win immediate promotion to the top flight.

It could be a disappointing summer for fans in E20 as the Irons deal with obvious financial constraints in the Championship and only time will tell what the future has in store for them.
