Ranga threatens his Gallants record in Saudi

Currently enjoying an impressive run of form in Saudi Arabia, Ranga Chivaviro could equal the best season of his career in terms of goal contributions during his debut campaign with Al Adalah.

Chivaviro has proven to be a valuable signing for the Saudi second-tier outfit.

The centre-forward is currently the club’s top scorer this season, with 13 league goals and two assists to his name.

Remarkably, his contributions have helped Al Adalah avoid relegation to the Saudi third division, with the club sitting eight points clear of the drop zone.

This season has marked a major turnaround in fortunes for Chivaviro following a disappointing spell at Kaizer Chiefs, with the striker now enjoying one of the best individual campaigns of his career.

During his only season with Marumo Gallants in 2022/23, the 33-year-old registered a career-best return of 17 goals in 30 matches, which later earned him a move to Chiefs.

This season, however, he is just two goal contributions away from matching that personal best.

Chivaviro will have one final opportunity to achieve the feat when Al Adalah face Al Jubail in their last match of the season on Wednesday evening, 13 May.
