The future of Jamil Benouahi at Marumo Gallants FC is believed to be set for review at the end of the season, with sources indicating that uncertainty remains over whether the coach will continue beyond the current campaign.

Benouahi arrived at Gallants towards the end of March as the club looked to strengthen its fight against relegation in the closing stages of the Betway Premiership season.

However, with only two matches remaining, Gallants remain deep in the relegation battle and are currently placed 15th on the standings with 23 points after 28 matches.

The situation at the bottom of the table remains extremely tight, with Magesi FC on 21 points, Orbit College FC on 24 points, and Chippa United FC on 25 points.

Sources close to the club have indicated that Gallants are expected to assess the overall situation once the season concludes, including the future of the technical team.

“At the moment, the focus is mainly on surviving relegation because there are still two important matches left,” a source close to the club told the Siya crew.

“But after the season, the club is expected to review a lot of things, including the coach’s future. Right now, it is still unclear what will happen.”

Benouahi’s time at Gallants has drawn attention in recent weeks following periods where he was absent from the dugout, while the club continued battling for points in difficult circumstances.

Despite the uncertainty, Gallants still have an opportunity to secure their topflight status if results go their way in the remaining fixtures.

For now, indications are that all focus remains on survival before any final decisions are made regarding the technical team and the direction the club could take next season.
