Robbie Keane's odds to be next Hearts manager revealed as Derek McInnes to Rangers looms
Robbie Keane is among the favourites to be the next Hearts manager with one of the UK's top bookmakers as Derek McInnes heads to Rangers.
McInnes recently led Hearts to one of the best seasons in their modern history in his first term as their manager.
Their impressive campaign has seen Rangers make a move to appoint him as their new boss after Danny Rohl was approached by RB Salzburg.
McInnes will be tough for Hearts to replace as he nears an Ibrox move, but Tony Bloom and their board are likely to move quickly to get a successor in.
One of the UK's top bookmakers has installed Keane as a leading contender to be the next man in the Tynecastle dugout.
He was close to becoming Celtic's new manager last week after holding talks with their board, but missed out on the role as Martin O'Neill signed a permanent one-year contract.
Keane has impressed in charge of Maccabi Tel-Aviv and Ferencvaros, but is yet to take a first step into management on these shores.
The former Republic of Ireland striker left his role as Ferencvaros boss at the end of May after leading them to a Hungarian top-flight title and a cup triumph in 16 months at the club.
He guided Maccabi to an Israeli Premier League title in 2023 too, with many Hoops fans opposing his appointment due to the stint.S
Sources have told Football Insider that fan protests were the main reason why Keane was not hired by Celtic last week.
He may still make a return to the Scottish Premiership this summer, however, with a top bookmaker installing him as the third-favourite to be the next Hearts boss at odds of 5/1.
Reports have stated that Hearts are holding informal talks with managerial candidates as McInnes' move to Rangers looks all but done.
Dutch boss Rene Hake is the current favourite to be the next Jambos manager, with odds of 3/1 with a top UK bookmaker.
NEC manager Dick Schreuder is next in the running ahead of Keane, at 4/1 odds, while Damien Duff, Liam Rosenior and Scott Parker are all believed to be in the running at odds of 12/1.
