Sekhukhune Could Hold Firm On Sought-After Attacker
Sekhukhune United could resist interest in Mcedi Vandala, with incoming coach Cedric Kaze understood to be keen on assessing the winger after his impressive loan spell at Magesi…
Mcedi Vandala's future could yet remain at Sekhukhune United despite growing interest from several Betway Premiership clubs following his impressive spell at Magesi FC.
As previously reported by the Siya crew, the 29-year-old attacker has attracted enquiries from clubs including Chippa United, Durban City and AmaZulu FC after a productive campaign in which he scored five league goals and played a prominent role for Magesi.

However, indications are that Sekhukhune may not be ready to part ways with the winger just yet.
Sources close to the situation have suggested that Babina Noko are expected to assess their options regarding Vandala ahead of the new season, with incoming coach Cedric Kaze believed to be interested in taking a closer look at the player during pre-season preparations.
The Burundian mentor is understood to be keen on evaluating the club's existing resources before decisions are made on players who spent the previous campaign away on loan.
"Mcedi did very well at Magesi and there is interest from different clubs, that's true," a source informed the Siya crew.
"But Sekhukhune are also looking at the situation carefully. The new coach wants to assess a number of players and understand what he has available before any final decisions are taken. At this stage, it's not as simple as saying he will leave," the source said.
With Magesi's relegation now confirmed following the conclusion of the PSL promotion/relegation playoffs, Vandala is set to return to Sekhukhune, where his future is expected to be discussed in the coming weeks.

While interested clubs continue to monitor developments, Siya sources indicate that Sekhukhune could prove difficult negotiators should they decide the winger remains part of Kaze's plans for the 2026/27 campaign.
Vandala remains under contract with Babina Noko, meaning the club will ultimately have the final say on whether he stays to fight for a place under the new technical team or departs in search of regular football elsewhere.
