Sources: Borussia Monchengladbach's response to Leeds' Nico Elvedi offer plan revealed

Borussia Monchengladbach have no intention of selling Leeds United target Nico Elvedi for as little as £7million this summer, sources have told Football Insider.

Recent reports in Germany have suggested that the Whites are preparing a £7m offer for the 29-year-old, but it is understood that it will not be close to tempting his team into a sale.

The centre-back is about to enter the final year of his contract with the Bundesliga side, but they will not be entertaining any approaches that have such little value for them.

Leeds are part of a growing list of clubs that are monitoring Elvedi's future, with teams across Europe prepared to make a move for him this summer.

Monchengladbach are aware that this is likely to be their final chance to cash in on the Switzerland international, but they are not willing to just accept whatever money is on the table.

Daniel Farke and Co. may have a strong interest in Elvedi, but they will need to work harder if they want to get a deal done.

The Swiss star played under the German boss during his time in charge of Monchengladbach, and the pair still share a "mutual admiration" for each other.

Leeds have identified Elvedi as a player of top-level quality who could immediately strengthen their squad, and they are trying to take advantage of his contract situation.

Football Insider revealed earlier this week that Leeds will find it "very difficult" to win the race to sign Julian Brandt this summer.

The departing Borussia Dortmund star has an array of suitors from across Europe this summer, with the prospect of a free transfer enticing several clubs.
