Tottenham can finally address most important transfer need as Pedro Porro agreement 'close'
Tottenham Hotspur will soon have no worries about Pedro Porro's future ahead of the upcoming transfer window.
The North London outfit are reportedly closing in on a new four-year contract agreement with the right-back, who is considered a crucial part of the squad.
With the Spain international's future secure at the Lilywhites, they may be able to focus on strengthening their squad in other positions.
Spurs are clearly in desperate need of a reliable striker, and with Porro set to be tied down to a new contract, any fears of his exit may be alleviated, letting the hierarchy in N17 pour a significant part of their budget on a new number nine.
If Porro's future remains uncertain in the summer, the North London outfit will undoubtedly have to think about potential replacements for him.
With the Spanish star clearly committed to the cause at Spurs, they may not need to scramble for a new right back in the coming weeks.
Richarlison was Tottenham's leading goalscorer in all competitions in the 2025-26 campaign, finding the back of the net 12 times.
Micky van de Ven, Joao Palhinha and Cristian Romero made the top five in terms of goals scored for the North London outfit this season, and Porro, who Sky Sports' Lyall Thomas has shared is close to signing a new contract on 12 June, had the joint-highest assists in the squad.
The number nines since Harry Kane's departure from the Lilywhites just haven't been good enough and it's time for them to splash the cash on someone capable of scoring 20 Premier League goals in a campaign.
A quality centre-forward will undoubtedly cost a lot of money, but that's what Spurs should do if they want to be back in contention towards the top of the league table next season.
Sources told Football Insider on 12 June that Tottenham are pushing to sign Savinho from Manchester City in the summer, with £60million believed to be enough to secure the winger's services.
Apart from the 22-year-old Brazil international, the North London outfit should further strengthen their attack with a new striker.
Dominic Solanke and Richarlison's persistent fitness issues make them unreliable, and Roberto De Zerbi arguably has a monumental summer of business coming up in N17.
