Carlos Queiroz launched a fierce criticism of the officiating after Ghana’s goalless draw with England, claiming VAR failed to intervene during two crucial second-half incidents.
Queiroz believed England goalkeeper Jordan Pickford and defender Ezri Konsa should both have been punished for challenges on Prince Adu, with neither incident resulting in disciplinary action despite strong protests from the Ghana bench.
The first controversial moment arrived in the 66th minute when Pickford collided with Adu outside the penalty area. Queiroz described the challenge as a “clear shock” and insisted the England goalkeeper should have been shown a red card.
The second flashpoint involved Konsa, who appeared to bring down Adu as the Ghana forward raced through on goal.
Former England striker Wayne Rooney also questioned the decision, arguing that Konsa took a “huge risk” because he “gets the man, not the ball”.

Queiroz maintained that both incidents had a significant impact on the outcome and expressed frustration that VAR did not recommend further action.
The Portuguese mixed frustration with sarcasm as he questioned the role of VAR in the match’s key moments.
“Is VAR still working at the World Cup?” the Ghana coach asked reporters. “Do we still have VAR? I have my doubts.”
He then added: “The VAR referee was on vacation second half, apparently.” He continued, “Once again, the VAR went for coffee,” before joking, “It’s a clear penalty and a red card [on Konsa]. Do you have any doubts about that, or as it only me who was at the game?”
The Black Stars , who occupy second position in Group L, will face Panama in their last group game on Saturday.
