Hamouda Bencherifa resigned as Wydad Athletic Club coach on Monday, a day after the Casablanca side lost 1-0 to Difaâ El Jadida, sources told Hesport.
Bencherifa submitted his resignation to the club’s board following Sunday’s defeat in the 26th round of Morocco’s Botola Pro.
Sources said he decided to leave because he lacked the conditions required to work as intended and was dissatisfied with several internal matters that he believed were harming the squad’s performances and results.
Bencherifa replaced French coach Patrice Carteron but remained in charge for less than two months.
He managed Wydad in nine matches across all competitions, including eight league fixtures and one Throne Cup game.
The Moroccan coach recorded five victories and four defeats during his brief spell.
Wydad had not immediately announced a replacement or confirmed who would oversee the team’s next match.
