Bayern Munich has taken its first concrete step toward signing Moroccan international Ismael Saibari, submitting an initial offer worth €45 million ($52 million), plus an additional €5 million in performance-related bonuses.
Despite the significance of the proposal, which underscores Bayern’s strong interest in the midfielder, the offer is not expected to be enough to persuade Dutch champions PSV Eindhoven to part ways with one of their standout players.
According to French outlet Foot Mercato, PSV officials are seeking at least €50 million as a fixed transfer fee before considering the departure of the attacking midfielder. The Dutch club is under little pressure to sell after Saibari’s exceptional season and remains firm in its valuation.
The 25-year-old Moroccan is enjoying the best form of his career. During the 2025-26 campaign, he scored 19 goals and provided nine assists in 37 appearances across all competitions. His performances earned him the league’s Player of the Year award and established him as one of the most sought-after talents in Dutch football.
Ismael Saibari has reportedly been on Bayern’s radar for several months, with the German champions accelerating their efforts ahead of the summer transfer window.
Reports indicate that Bayern and the player have already reached an agreement on the broad terms of a long-term contract that would run through 2030. Negotiations are now focused primarily on reaching a deal between the two clubs.
Several media outlets have recently suggested that Saibari could undergo a medical examination in the United States to expedite the transfer process. However, no final agreement has yet been reached, with PSV continuing to hold out for its asking price.
Despite the current gap between Bayern’s offer and PSV’s valuation, both sides remain optimistic that an agreement can be reached in the coming days, potentially paving the way for Saibari to take the next major step in his career by joining one of Europe’s most successful clubs, Bayern Munich.
