Coach Ouahbi announces Morocco's 26-man squad for 2026 FIFA World Cup

Morocco head coach Mohamed Ouahbi on Tuesday unveiled the country’s final 26-man squad for the 2026 FIFA World Cup during a press conference at the Mohammed VI Football Complex in Rabat.

The tournament, scheduled to begin on June 11, will be the first World Cup to feature 48 national teams and will be jointly hosted by the United States, Canada and Mexico.

Morocco’s squad includes several key players from the team that made history at the 2022 FIFA World Cup by becoming the first African and Arab nation to reach the semifinals.

Among the notable names selected are goalkeeper Yassine Bounou, defenders Achraf Hakimi and Noussair Mazraoui, midfielder Sofyan Amrabat and forward Brahim Diaz.

The squad also features emerging talents, including Ayoub Bouaddi and Chamseddine Talbi, as Morocco looks to build on its recent international success.

Morocco will open its World Cup campaign against Brazil national football team on June 13 in one of the most anticipated matches of the group stage.

Goalkeepers: Yassine Bounou, Munir Mohamedi, Reda Tagnaouti.

Defenders: Achraf Hakimi, Noussair Mazraoui, Anass Salah-Eddine, Youssef Belammari, Zakaria El Ouahdi, Nayef Aguerd, Riyad Chadi, Redouane Halhal, Issa Diop.

Midfielders: Samir El Mourabit, Ayoub Bouaddi, Neil El Aynaoui, Sofyan Amrabat, Azzedine Ounahi, Bilal El Khannouss, Ismael Saibari.

Forwards: Abde Ezzalzouli, Chamseddine Talbi, Soufiane Rahimi, Ayoub El Kaabi, Brahim Diaz, Yassine Jisami, Ayoub Amimouni.

The reserve list includes Mehdi El Harrar, Amine Sebai and Marouane Saadane.
