Como and coach Cesc Fabregas are enjoying an open top bus parade through the city streets after securing Champions League qualification for the first time.

They went into the final round of the season in joint sixth place with Juventus, two points behind Milan and Roma.

However, their 4-1 victory away to Cremonese and the simultaneous Milan 2-1 home defeat to Cagliari saw the situation turned around to snatch fourth place.

The Lariani were in Serie B two years ago and had never even qualified for European football before, let alone the Champions League.

They set out from the Stadio Sinigaglia to salute the crowds in an open top bus parade and are showing clips from the event on their social media channels.

This season there was plenty to celebrate, as the club also made it to the Coppa Italia semi-final for the first time in their history, losing to eventual trophy victors Inter.

They notched up 20 victories, 11 draws and seven defeats, scoring 65 goals and conceding 29.

Only title winners Inter managed to find the net more times this season on 89.

Next term they will be in the biggest club competition in world football and their fans are looking forward to welcoming the greatest stars to the Stadio Sinigaglia.
