Serie A new boys Venezia have agreed terms with Thierry Correia, claim Sky Sport Italia, so he will join as a free agent from Valencia.
The negotiations with the versatile defender have been going on for several weeks, as he was in no rush to make a decision with his contract in Spain running down on June 30.
According to transfer pundit Gianluca Di Marzio, the agreement was finally reached today on a two-year contract to join Venezia.
There is also an option to extend for a third season with the Lagunari, who are fresh from winning the Serie B title and securing promotion.
Primarily a right-back, but also able to play on the left, the 27-year-old had been a €12m investment by Valencia when purchasing him from Sporting CP in the summer of 2019.
Correia made 25 competitive appearances for Valencia this season, contributing two assists, but did not reach an agreement to renew his deal.
He has struggled with injuries, including a torn anterior cruciate ligament in October 2024, then three different muscular issues this season alone.
