Google has officially announced its artificial intelligence assistant, Google Gemini, as the new Technology Sponsor for the Moroccan national football team, alongside the Iraqi national team.
The tech company said this sponsorship aims to leverage its “cutting-edge AI technology to celebrate the region’s rich sports culture and transform the fan experience” for supporters across the globe.
The official announcement highlighted the specific relevance of this partnership to the Kingdom, noting that the collaboration is “fully aligned with the enlightened vision of His Majesty King Mohammed VI.”
The statement emphasized the monarch’s ongoing commitment to making sport, youth, innovation, and Morocco’s international influence central pillars of national development.
By partnering with the national federation, Google intends to focus on “modernizing sports through innovation” while honoring the Moroccan team’s unique history on the pitch.
Over the next three months, Google and the respective football federations will roll out a series of fan-centric activations powered by the Gemini AI.
These initiatives are designed to “bridge the gap between the teams and their global fanbases” by providing supporters with immersive new ways to engage with the sport.
Fans will be able to create custom cheering visuals using Gemini’s text-to-image capabilities and compose original team anthems with its text-to-music features.
Furthermore, users can utilize the AI to analyze match performances and break down complex football rules, a move Google says underscores its commitment to making the sport “inclusive and immersive for everyone” in the Arab world.
