Monday’s reports claim that Milan are now closing in on deals to appoint Eintracht Frankfurt duo Markus Krösche and Timmo Hardung as the club’s new technical and sporting directors following their agreement with Ruben Amorim to become the next head coach.
It has been a summer of uncertainty for Milan since the end of the 2025-26 season following the departures of head coach Massimiliano Allegri, sporting director Igli Tare, technical director Geoffrey Moncada and CEO Giorgio Furlani, but it appears that the Rossoneri are close to making a series of significant appointments.
Reports on Monday confirm that former Manchester United head coach Amorim has an agreement to take over as head coach on an initial two-year contract with an option to extend for a further 12 months. He will reportedly earn a salary of around €3.5m per season plus bonuses.
Additionally, reports from various outlets in Italy claim that Milan are closing in on agreements to appoint Krösche as the club’s new technical director and his Eintracht Frankfurt colleague Hardung as the next sporting director.
Reports vary depending on the source: Sky claims that Milan ‘like’ Krösche, while Matteo Moretto and Fabrizio Romano claim that talks are advanced and that the Rossoneri are closing in on an agreement. Calciomercato.com claims that there is already a verbal agreement in place with the German.
It is expected that if Krösche is appointed as technical director, or as ‘head of football’, then he will seek to bring his Frankfurt colleague Hardung with him to take over as sporting director.
